Quantum Computing
We study the physics and engineering of quantum information — from qubit coherence and error correction to hybrid quantum-classical algorithms with near-term impact.
Overview
Quantum computing promises to reshape chemistry, materials science, optimization, and cryptography. Our quantum group works across the stack: characterizing noise and decoherence, prototyping error-correction and mitigation strategies, and designing variational and hybrid algorithms that can run on today's noisy hardware. As a member of the Wisconsin Quantum Alliance, we connect our work to a statewide effort to grow the quantum workforce and startup ecosystem.
