About this project

This project turns a production Bobcat excavator into a research platform for autonomous earthmoving. We combine onboard sensing, terrain and obstacle perception, and learned control policies so the machine can plan and execute digging, grading, and loading tasks with minimal human oversight. The work emphasizes sim-to-real transfer, safe operation around people, and reproducible field experiments that connect our robotics research to tangible demonstrations.
